Diamond microdermabrasion facial in Málaga

Diamond microdermabrasion is a mechanical exfoliation: a diamond-coated head polishes the outermost layer of the skin while gentle suction lifts away the loosened cells. At Narumi, in Málaga city centre, Marta Fernández adapts it to your skin to refine texture and boost radiance. A session takes around 30–45 minutes and, for a lasting change, a course of 4 to 6 sessions every 2–3 weeks is usual.

What you can (and can't) expect

What it helps with

  • Rough or uneven-feeling texture
  • Dullness caused by a build-up of dead cells
  • The look of pores with surface congestion
  • A more even tone where pigmentation is light and superficial
  • How well your skin absorbs the products you apply afterwards

What it doesn't do

  • It won't erase deep scars or pronounced wrinkles
  • It doesn't address sagging or add firmness
  • It's no substitute for manual extractions if you have lots of blackheads

Is it right for you?

Ideal for

  • Thicker, combination or oily skin with uneven texture
  • Dull skin that needs a glow without days of peeling
  • Anyone who prefers mechanical exfoliation to acids
  • Busy people who want to get straight back to their day

When we don't carry it out

  • Active inflamed acne, broken skin or a cold sore in the area
  • Rosacea, marked thread veins or very reactive skin
  • Sunburn or a very recent tan
  • Oral retinoids, or in the days after a chemical peel
  • Raised moles or marks that have changed (see your dermatologist)
  • Pregnancy: mention it at your assessment and check with your doctor first

If you're unsure about your own situation, check with your doctor first. We'll go through it with you at your initial consultation.

Your session, step by step

  1. Skin assessment and cleanse

We look at your skin and cleanse it to remove make-up and surface oil.

  2. Choosing the head

We select the grit of the diamond head and the suction level to suit your skin's thickness and sensitivity.

  3. Microdermabrasion

We glide the head over the skin in short passes, section by section, taking extra care on the cheeks and around the eyes, and avoiding the eyelids.

  4. Soothe and hydrate

We apply a soothing mask or serum, moisturiser and sunscreen.

What diamond microdermabrasion is

The outermost layer of the skin, the stratum corneum, is made up of cells that have already completed their life cycle. When they build up, skin feels rough and reflects less light. Diamond microdermabrasion polishes that layer with an abrasive diamond-coated head while a suction system lifts away the loosened cells in the same movement.

It’s a mechanical exfoliation: no acids, and no flaking skin in the days that follow. That’s why it appeals to anyone who wants smoother skin without rearranging their week.

How we adapt it to your skin

Two settings make all the difference: the grit of the head and the strength of the suction. Thick, oily skin can take more intensive polishing; fine or dry skin needs gentler passes. Marta adjusts both area by area: the forehead, nose and chin can usually take a little more intensity than the cheekbones and cheeks, and the eye area is treated very gently or left out altogether.

After polishing, your skin is more receptive, so finishing with a mask or serum chosen for you makes particular sense.

What you can expect, and what you can’t

What you notice straight away is skin that feels softer and looks brighter. With a course of sessions, texture becomes finer and tone a little more even. What it won’t do is fill wrinkles, tighten the skin or erase indented scars; if that’s your goal, we’ll tell you plainly and suggest another option at the salon.

In Málaga, with so many sunny days, it’s a useful exfoliation outside the winter months too, as long as you’re diligent with sun protection. You’ll find more detail in our guide on what to expect from diamond microdermabrasion.

After your session

Aftercare

  • Sunscreen every day, reapplied if you're outdoors
  • No scrubs, acids or retinol at home for 2–3 days
  • Avoid direct sun, saunas and chlorinated pools for the first 24–48 hours
  • Moisturise more than usual; your skin will thank you
  • If you wear make-up, wait until the next day and use clean products

It's normal to notice

  • Slight redness that fades within a few hours
  • A tight feeling or more sensitive skin on the day
  • On fine skin, some areas may look pinker than others for a few hours

Frequently asked questions

Where can I get diamond microdermabrasion in Málaga?

At Narumi Estética Avanzada & Bienestar, Calle Cristo de la Epidemia, 33, in Málaga's Distrito Centro. It's handy if you live or work around La Victoria, Olletas or the historic centre, and the session is short, so it fits easily into a free hour. Book on WhatsApp, by phone or using the form.

How much does diamond microdermabrasion cost?

The price per session is in the price table on this page. If, after your assessment, we suggest a course, we'll explain it before we start so you know the total from the outset. You can also begin with a single session and decide afterwards, depending on how your skin responds.

How many sessions will I need?

Your skin feels smoother and brighter from the very first session, but that effect is temporary. For a more lasting improvement in texture, a course of 4 to 6 sessions every 2–3 weeks is usual. After that, a maintenance session every month or two is normally enough. The exact number depends on your skin.

Does diamond microdermabrasion hurt?

It doesn't usually hurt. You'll feel firm friction and light suction, a bit like having your skin brushed. On finer areas, such as the cheekbones or beside the nose, it can feel a little more intense; we adjust the suction and the grit of the head so it stays comfortable throughout.

Is diamond peel the same as microdermabrasion?

Diamond microdermabrasion, sometimes called a diamond peel, is one type of microdermabrasion. Other versions blast fine crystals onto the skin; the diamond version uses a head with a fixed abrasive surface plus suction. It's cleaner and gives better control over intensity area by area, which helps when your forehead and cheeks don't tolerate the same.

Does diamond microdermabrasion remove pigmentation?

It can soften the look of very light, superficial pigmentation by renewing the outer layer, leaving your tone more even. It doesn't work on deep or hormonal pigmentation such as melasma. If a mark has changed shape, colour or size, see your dermatologist before having any treatment.

Can I have it in summer in Málaga?

Yes, with more care than in winter. Because it doesn't leave your skin peeling, it's one of the most summer-friendly exfoliations, as long as you wear high-factor sunscreen every day and stay off the beach for the following 48 hours. If you're very tanned, we'll wait.

Does it help with acne marks?

It can soften the look of very superficial marks and the uneven tone some spots leave behind by polishing the surface. For raised or indented scarring, Dermapen is usually a better fit. We don't do it on active inflamed acne: see your dermatologist first.

Can it be combined with other treatments?

Yes. After microdermabrasion your skin absorbs active ingredients better, so it pairs well with a targeted mask, an LED light facial or a radiofrequency facial on another day. We don't do it on the same day as a chemical peel or Dermapen.
