Frequently asked questions
What is Narumi?
Narumi Estética Avanzada & Bienestar is a beauty and aesthetics centre in Málaga city centre, run by Marta Fernández, an advanced aesthetics specialist with more than 15 years' experience. We work with non-invasive aesthetic devices and hands-on techniques: diode laser hair removal, facials and body treatments, makeup and spa rituals.
Are you a clinic?
No. We're a beauty and aesthetics centre, not a healthcare facility. That means we don't offer medical aesthetics, we don't diagnose and we don't carry out medical treatments. We work with non-invasive aesthetic techniques. If what you need is a job for a doctor or dermatologist, we'll tell you clearly and recommend you see one.
Do you offer injectables, fillers or botulinum toxin?
No. Hyaluronic acid fillers, botulinum toxin, thread lifts and any injectable treatment are medical procedures that can only be carried out by healthcare professionals in an authorised facility. We don't offer them at Narumi. We do have non-invasive aesthetic alternatives to improve the look of your skin, such as radiofrequency or Kobido.
How do I book an appointment?
On WhatsApp or by phone on +34 611 500 328, or through the contact form on the website. Tell us which treatment you're interested in or what you'd like to improve and we'll suggest a day and time. We always work by appointment.
What is the consultation and why do you do it?
It's the first step of any treatment. Marta looks at your skin or the area to be treated, asks about your health, medication and skincare products, and listens to what you're hoping for. From there she decides which technique is suitable, roughly how many sessions to plan and whether anything rules the treatment out. It's how we look after you and avoid empty promises.
Where are you?
At Calle Cristo de la Epidemia, 33, 29013 Málaga, in the Distrito Centro, a few minutes' walk from the historic centre and next to La Victoria, El Ejido and Olletas. Our salon page has a map and directions on foot, by bus or by car.
Where can I see your prices?
Our prices page lists everything including VAT, and each treatment page shows its own prices, with multi-session courses and packages where available. Your specific plan and total cost are confirmed at the consultation, before you start.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Ask us when you book on WhatsApp or by phone and we'll tell you which payment methods are available at the salon. If you're buying a gift voucher, we'll also explain how to do it before you come in, so you don't have to make the trip twice.
How do treatment courses work?
Many treatments are available as courses of several sessions, at a better price per session than booking one at a time. They're the logical choice when results build up gradually, as with Dermapen, radiofrequency or pressotherapy. At your consultation we'll tell you whether a course makes sense for you and how many sessions.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes. You can give any treatment or one of our spa rituals with a gift voucher, valid for 3 months. Order it on WhatsApp or at the salon, and the person receiving it books their appointment whenever suits them within that time.
Do you treat men?
Yes. We offer diode laser hair removal for men on the back, chest, stomach, neck and nape, and most of our facial and body treatments are just as suitable for men: deep-cleansing facials, Kobido, pressotherapy and massage, among others. The consultation is the same for everyone.
Can I have treatments if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
During pregnancy we don't carry out most device-based treatments, such as laser, radiofrequency, pressotherapy or peels, and some aren't suitable while breastfeeding either. Always check with your doctor or midwife. Tell us about your situation when you book and we'll let you know which gentle options might make sense, always with their approval.
Do you treat under-18s?
It depends on the treatment. Some, such as a deep-cleansing facial, can be carried out on under-18s with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who should ideally come along too. Others aren't suitable for minors. Message us before booking with their age and what they need, and we'll tell you whether it's possible.
Which languages do you speak?
The website is available in several languages so you can find information comfortably, but appointments at the salon are carried out in Spanish. If you're not confident in Spanish, we'd suggest bringing someone who can help, or messaging us on WhatsApp before your appointment; we'll do our best to help.
What should I do if I can't make my appointment?
Let us know as early as possible on WhatsApp or by phone. That way we can offer the slot to someone else and find you a new date. If you have questions about changing an appointment, ask when you book and we'll explain in detail.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most people describe it as a brief, tolerable feeling of warmth or a quick sting. Our diode laser has a cooled sapphire tip, which chills the skin during the session and makes it more comfortable. Sensitivity varies by area and by person, and we adjust the settings to suit you.
Are results the same for everyone?
No. The results of any beauty treatment vary from person to person: their skin, age, habits, consistency and how they respond to the technique. That's why we don't promise fixed outcomes. At the consultation we give you a realistic estimate and fine-tune it session by session.
What if I have a mark, a mole or inflamed acne?
If a mark or mole has changed shape, size or colour, or you have inflamed acne, see your doctor or dermatologist first. In those cases we don't carry out beauty treatments on the area. Once you have their go-ahead, we can help you look after the appearance of your skin.
Do I need to prepare anything before I come?
It depends on the treatment: for laser, for example, you'll need to shave the area beforehand and avoid the sun; before a peel, it's best to pause certain skincare products. We give you instructions when you book, and you'll find them on each treatment page. In general, arrive a few minutes early and tell us about any change in your health or medication.
Shall we talk about what you need?
Tell us what you'd like to improve and we'll recommend the option that genuinely makes sense for you, with a no-obligation initial consultation.
