Hydrotherapy facial in Málaga
A hydrotherapy facial is a beauty treatment that cleanses, gently exfoliates and hydrates the skin using water and cosmetic actives delivered through a handpiece with gentle suction. At Narumi, in Málaga city centre, Marta Fernández performs it with a professional hydrotherapy facial system. It takes about 45–60 minutes, leaves skin glowing without redness, and can be booked as a one-off or as a course of 4 sessions every 2–4 weeks.

What a hydrotherapy facial is
A hydrotherapy facial combines three steps that a classic facial does separately: cleanse, exfoliate and hydrate. A handpiece moves over the skin delivering water and cosmetic solutions while gentle suction lifts away dead cells, oil and surface impurities. In the industry it’s known as hydradermabrasion or hydro-exfoliation: a ‘wet’ exfoliation that’s kinder than dry polishing.
As there’s no steam and no manual extraction, the skin doesn’t go red the way it can after a traditional facial. That’s why it’s so useful for sensitive skin, for anyone with an event coming up, or simply for anyone who wants a pleasant facial that leaves their skin comfortable.
How we do it at Narumi
Marta starts by seeing how your skin is on the day. Depending on what she finds, she adjusts the suction and chooses the solutions: more exfoliating for combination skin with uneven texture, more hydrating and soothing for dry or reactive skin. The handpiece is worked area by area, with more attention on the T-zone, where oil tends to build up, and a very light touch on the cheeks and around the eyes.
The final part of the session is all about hydration: actives, a mask and a finishing touch that can include LED light or a facial massage if you fancy making the most of the moment.
Why it suits skin in Málaga
Sun, sea breeze and air conditioning for most of the year dehydrate the skin, even oily skin. Many people here have shine on the T-zone and tightness on the cheeks at the same time. A hydrotherapy facial addresses both in one session without leaving the skin sensitive to the sun, so it’s a good option in summer too, always with your usual daily sunscreen.
If you’re deciding between this and a classic facial, we explain the differences in our guide hydrotherapy facial or classic facial.

What our clients say
Frequently asked questions
Where can I get a hydrotherapy facial in Málaga?
At Narumi, Calle Cristo de la Epidemia, 33 (29013 Málaga), very close to Olletas and La Victoria and a short walk from the historic centre. It's an easy facial to fit into a long lunch break, as it doesn't leave marks. Book on WhatsApp, by phone or through the form on our website.
How much does a hydrotherapy facial cost?
The price table on this page shows a single session and courses of 4 and 8 sessions. If you want a lasting improvement in hydration and radiance, a course is the most practical option; for an event, a single session is usually enough.
Is it the same as hydradermabrasion?
Yes, it belongs to the same family of techniques: exfoliating with water and cosmetic solutions while gentle suction removes what's been loosened. Some machines are sold under very well-known brand names; at Narumi we use a professional hydrotherapy facial system, and what matters isn't the brand but how the session is tailored to your skin.
How many sessions will I need?
A single session already leaves skin cleaner, brighter and plumper, which is why it works so well before an event. If your skin is very dehydrated or dull, a course of 4 sessions every 2–4 weeks consolidates the change. After that, one session a month or once a season works well as maintenance.
Does a hydrotherapy facial hurt?
It's not usually uncomfortable at all. You'll feel cool water and light suction moving over the skin, a little more noticeable on the nose. It's one of the most pleasant facials we offer, and most people find it genuinely relaxing.
Does it get rid of blackheads?
It lifts away oil and surface impurities and improves the look of pores, but it doesn't clear deep, hardened blackheads the way manual extractions do. If blackheads are your main concern, the deep cleansing facial is a better fit, or you can alternate the two.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes, it's one of the gentlest options we have. There's no steam or manual extractions, and the suction can be adjusted. Even so, if you have flaring rosacea or very irritated skin, we'll assess it first and, if needed, wait for it to calm down or recommend you see your dermatologist.
Can I have one before an event?
Yes, it's one of the best facials for that because it doesn't usually leave redness or marks. Ideally have it a day or two beforehand so your skin looks hydrated and your make-up sits better. If it's your first time, allow a little more time.
How is it different from a classic facial?
A classic facial uses steam and manual extractions, and is the best choice for stubborn blackheads. A hydrotherapy facial cleanses and hydrates with water and actives, without extractions, and leaves no redness. We compare them in detail in a dedicated guide.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
Yes. It pairs well with an LED light facial or a Kobido facial massage to finish, and can also prep the skin before a course of radiofrequency. We'll suggest a combination based on your goal and, if you'd like a fuller plan, how to fit it around an occasional deep cleansing facial.
