Laser hair removal
Underarm laser hair removal in Málaga
Underarm laser hair removal gives long-lasting, progressive reduction of underarm hair using a diode laser with a cooled sapphire tip. It's where many people start: a session takes around 10 minutes, and coarse, dark underarm hair usually responds well. At Narumi, in Málaga city centre, it's carried out by Marta Fernández. As a guide, expect 6 to 8 sessions, every 6–8 weeks.
- Duration
- Around 10 minutes for both underarms
- Sessions
- Roughly 6–8
- How often
- Every 6–8 weeks
- How it feels
- Brief, tolerable snaps; the denser centre of the underarm is a little more noticeable
What you can (and can't) expect
What it helps with
- Underarm hair, which grows back sparser, finer and slower
- The dark shadow that shaved hair leaves under the skin
- Redness, stinging and spots after shaving
- Ingrown hairs and marks from waxing
What it doesn't do
- It doesn't reduce sweating
- On its own, it doesn't lighten darker underarm skin
- It doesn't work on grey or very light hair
Is it right for you?

- Anyone who wants to try laser on a small area before deciding on others

Your session, step by step
-
Come without deodorant
If you can, skip deodorant, cream and perfume that day; if you're wearing some, we'll remove it before we start.
-
Shaving and cleansing
Come shaved from the day before; we cleanse the skin and check there's no irritation.
-
Pulses
With your arm above your head so the skin is stretched, we pass the cooled handpiece over the whole underarm.
-
Soothing
We apply a fragrance-free soothing cream and that's it: within minutes you can get on with your day.
A small area that responds quickly
The underarms have almost everything that favours laser: coarse, dark hair, skin that rarely tans and a small surface that can be treated in a few minutes. That’s why many people notice a difference from the first sessions, and use it as a trial run before deciding on other areas.
The hair in the centre, where it’s densest, is the most noticeable at first. As the sessions go on, fewer hairs grow, and those that do are finer and slower to appear. There comes a point where the razor stops being a daily habit and becomes an occasional one, or drops out of your routine altogether.
Sweat, deodorant and irritated skin
The underarm is a damp area, under constant friction and exposed every day to deodorants, perfumes and synthetic fabrics. Shave it daily or wax it on top of that and it often ends up irritated, spotty or darker. Laser doesn’t affect sweating or lighten the skin, but it does take away what keeps irritating it: constant hair removal.
So we pay attention to two moments. Before the session, the skin needs to be clean and free of deodorant. Afterwards, it’s best to give it 24 hours without alcohol-based products or workouts that make you sweat heavily.
A few minutes, and easy to combine
Because the session is so short, underarms rarely stay on their own for long. Most people add them to the bikini and pubic area, which follow a similar session rhythm, or include them in the full legs, feet, underarms and pubic area package. You’ll find all the options in the price table on this page and on our main page on laser hair removal in Málaga.

What our clients say
Frequently asked questions
Where can I get underarm laser hair removal in Málaga?
At Narumi Estética Avanzada & Bienestar, Calle Cristo de la Epidemia 33, in Málaga city centre, near La Victoria and the historic centre. As an underarm session takes around 10 minutes, many people fit it in after work or between errands. We use a diode laser with a cooled sapphire tip and the session is carried out by Marta Fernández.
Why are the underarms a good place to start with laser?
Because it's a small, quick area where the hair is usually coarse and dark, which is what responds best to the diode. It lets you see how the pulses feel and how your skin reacts for little time and outlay. If you're happy, it's easy to add other areas or move to a package with the bikini and pubic area at the same appointment.
How much does underarm laser cost?
The price of an underarm session and of the bikini, pubic area and underarms package are in the price table on this page and on our prices page. If you already know you also want your bikini line done, the package usually works out better value than paying for both areas separately. We'll advise you at your consultation, with no obligation.
Can I wear deodorant after underarm laser?
For the first 24 hours it's best not to, and never one with alcohol or perfume, as the skin is more sensitive and may sting. From the next day you can use a gentle alcohol-free deodorant. Before the session, try to come without deodorant: some contain metallic salts that should be removed before the laser is applied.
Does laser reduce underarm sweat or odour?
It doesn't reduce sweating: sweat glands aren't what laser hair removal targets. If you sweat excessively, speak to your dermatologist, as there are specific treatments for it. What many people do notice is a fresher feeling, because with less hair less moisture is trapped and deodorant spreads more evenly.
My underarms are darker from waxing or shaving. Can I still have laser?
Usually yes, with the energy adjusted, because skin with more pigment absorbs more light. Laser won't lighten that skin, but once you stop shaving every day or ripping the hair out with wax, the area stops being irritated over and over. If the mark is recent, changes in appearance or you don't know what's causing it, see your dermatologist first.
How long does an underarm session take?
Around 10 minutes for both underarms, including cleansing and the soothing cream at the end. If you combine it with the bikini and pubic area in the package, allow a little over half an hour in total. It's one of our shortest sessions, so you don't need to set aside half a morning.
Can I exercise after underarm laser?
Leave 24 hours before an intense workout, a spin class or a sauna. Sweat, rubbing from sportswear and heat on freshly treated skin all encourage irritation and spots. A walk or gentle activity is fine. If you compete, try not to book the session for the day before an event.
Do men have underarm laser too?
Yes, more and more, for comfort, hygiene or sport. Some prefer to reduce the hair without leaving the underarm completely bare: in that case we do fewer sessions or space them further apart. Men's underarm hair is usually denser, so it may need a session or two more than women's.
