Wellness gift ideas in Málaga: spa rituals, massages and gift vouchers
By Marta Fernández · Updated
Why give the gift of wellbeing
Giving a thing is easy; giving time, less so. A wellness treatment is a gift to be experienced: an hour or an afternoon when someone puts their phone away, lies back in a quiet treatment room and makes time for themselves. It doesn’t take up space in a drawer, you don’t have to get the size right and, very often, it’s something the person wouldn’t treat themselves to.
In Málaga, where the bustle of the city centre and the summer heat take their toll, a little calm is almost always welcome. And if you live or work near the historic centre, La Victoria or El Ejido, you have the advantage of giving it somewhere the other person can simply walk to.
How to choose the gift for the person
The key is to think about what they need, not which technique sounds best.
- If they need to switch off: a relaxing massage or Ritual Narumi, which combines Kobido for the face with a body massage. It’s the easiest gift to get right for someone who’s stressed.
- If they love looking after their skin: Ritual Piel de Seda, with a radiofrequency facial, Kobido and pressotherapy, or a deep-cleansing facial.
- If they spend long hours on their feet: a pressotherapy session, with its draining effect and that light-legs feeling.
- If they’d like to try something different: Kobido, a facial massage from the Japanese tradition that leaves the face looking rested and relaxed.
- If you don’t know their tastes well: Beauty Day, which brings together a facial with ultrasonic peel, pressotherapy and a relaxing massage. A little of everything.
Narumi’s three rituals at a glance
| Ritual | What’s included | Ideal for |
|---|---|---|
| Beauty Day | Facial with ultrasonic peel, 30-min pressotherapy and relaxing massage | Getting it right without knowing their tastes |
| Ritual Piel de Seda | Radiofrequency facial, Kobido and 30-min pressotherapy | Skincare lovers or someone with an event coming up |
| Ritual Narumi | Kobido and 30-min body massage | Properly switching off |
You’ll find the details and prices on our spa rituals page.
Ideas for every occasion
Christmas and Three Kings’ Day. These are the times of year when you most want to give something meaningful. A ritual is an alternative to the usual presents and, with 3 months’ validity, the recipient can enjoy it after the festive season, once things have calmed down.
Valentine’s Day. A treat for your partner, or for yourself. Ritual Narumi or a massage work beautifully.
Mother’s Day. Perhaps the most special moment to give the gift of calm. Ritual Piel de Seda or Beauty Day is a way of saying “this time is just for you”.
Birthdays and anniversaries. Choose based on the person, using the guide above. If in doubt, a voucher for the most complete ritual never fails.
A thank-you or a pick-me-up. For a friend who’s been through a tough time, a colleague who’s moving on or someone who has just had a baby (check with us first which techniques are suitable after giving birth).
How the gift voucher works
Narumi’s gift voucher is very simple:
- Send us a WhatsApp or pop into the salon and tell us who it’s for.
- Choose the treatment or ritual. If you’re not sure, we’ll help.
- Receive the voucher and give it whenever you like.
- The recipient books their appointment within the 3-month validity period.
Before the treatment we always carry out a short consultation. Some techniques, such as pressotherapy or radiofrequency, aren’t carried out in certain circumstances, such as pregnancy or some circulation problems. If you know that applies, tell us when you order the voucher and we’ll choose a suitable option together.
What to expect on the day
If it’s the recipient’s first visit to a beauty salon, they may have a few questions. You can tell them there’s no need to bring anything, that it’s best to arrive a few minutes early and, for a facial, to come without makeup. When we start, we’ll ask a few simple questions about their health and preferences, and during the treatment they can tell us at any point if they’d like more or less pressure, music or silence. The idea is for them to enjoy it their way.
One thing worth mentioning if the recipient doesn’t speak Spanish: appointments at the salon are carried out in Spanish, but they can message us on WhatsApp in English before their visit and we’ll do our best to help.
A few tips to get it right
- Think about their diary. A wellness gift only works if the person finds the time. Remind them they have 3 months to use it and that it’s worth booking ahead.
- Give experiences, not goals. A treatment to “get rid of wrinkles” can go down badly; a ritual to “unwind” almost never does.
- Add a note. A few personal lines make the voucher much more than a piece of paper.
- If you’d like to give a specific treatment, such as a course of laser hair removal or a multi-session facial, it’s better for the recipient to choose after their consultation: you could give them the first session and let them decide from there.

Frequently asked questions
Which wellness gift almost always goes down well?
A ritual combining several techniques, such as Beauty Day (a facial with ultrasonic peel, pressotherapy and a relaxing massage), is usually a safe bet because you don't need to know the person's skin or specific tastes. If you know they need to switch off, a massage or Ritual Narumi is a simple choice.
How long is a Narumi gift voucher valid?
The gift voucher is valid for 3 months. It's a good idea for the recipient to book a little in advance, especially if they want to use it on particular dates, so they can get the day and time that suit them best. The expiry date is shown on the voucher when it's issued.
Where can I buy a beauty gift voucher in Málaga?
At Narumi you can order one on WhatsApp on +34 611 500 328 or at the salon, Calle Cristo de la Epidemia, 33, in Málaga's Distrito Centro. If you're coming in person, message us first, as we work by appointment.
Can I give a treatment to someone who is pregnant?
It's best to check with us first. During pregnancy we don't carry out many device-based techniques, such as pressotherapy or radiofrequency, and some rituals include them. Tell us about the situation and we'll help you choose something suitable, always with the go-ahead of her doctor or midwife.
Can I give a massage to a man?
Of course. Massages, Kobido, pressotherapy or a deep-cleansing facial all make great gifts for men. Ritual Narumi, with Kobido and a body massage, is a lovely way for him to discover a salon treatment if he's never tried one.
